“Aava” is one of the most beautiful words in Finnish. It refers to wide open seas, expansive vistas, the vastness of space. That same openness goes for how Aava sees people. We set out to the most remote islands in the Baltic sea, at a time when the sun never fully sets, to capture what “aava” feels like.
